It’s that wonderful time of year when the heaviness of the holiday season passes and once again we gracefully bid farewell to yet, another glorious year. Whew…Yes. We did it!
No matter what has happened to us or because of us during the past twelve months, we are moving on!
We are here and we are so very grateful, indeed. I know that I surely am.
I wanted to leave my students in our final Tuesday morning yoga practice of 2014 with a powerful guiding message of strength and grace for the new year. I chose a quote from Swami Vivekananda, a mystic of the highest order. Swami Vivekananda was regarded as the extraordinary patriot saint of modern India. He practiced, shared, and lived his profound wisdom for several decades across the globe. I have always found his simplistic wisdom empowering and pure.
“The cheerful mind perseveres and the strong mind hews its way through a thousand difficulties.”
Whatever you endeavor or challenges you meet in 2015, know this to be true. “The cheerful mind perseveres and the strong mind hews its way through a thousand difficulties.”
In another famous quote, Swami V suggests that we refuse and abandon ANYTHING that makes us weak physically, intellectually and spiritually. Reject it as poison.
“Anything that makes you weak physically, intellectually and spiritually, reject as poison.”
Now, there’s a great idea for the new year. Get your new year started mighty strong everyone!
