Good Glorious Morning Everyone!
Are you ready for this beautiful weekend? I know I am.
“The teachings on love given by the Buddha are clear, scientific, and applicable… Love, compassion, joy, and equanimity are the very nature of an enlightened person. They are the four aspects of true love within ourselves and within everyone and everything.” ~Thich Nhat Hanh
I’m looking forward to catching up on some reading which I haven’t being doing much of lately. Like many of you, I’ve been side-lined with the typical distractions; holidays and family things, fixer upper jobs, spring cleaning (the garage), schlepping bags of used clothes to local donation drop-offs, catastrophic plane crashes, on going terrorist attacks and pre-political campaign crap. Enough!
I’ve decided to go back to basics; returning to a much simpler and certainly more pleasing way of spending my time. A return trip to our roots allows us to reconnect with our real self and to rediscover our purpose (dharma) for being on this earth. Traveling into our soul is deeply grounding, comforting and soul affirming. This is the place where we learn to love ourselves.
Life gets messy and will often cloud our vision of what is truly important to us. When our vision and thinking are blurred we forget who we are and even about the people we love. If we don’t clean up the mess we may not even recognize ourselves in the mirror. Yikes! Feeling suddenly trapped inside this stranger within me is never good! In reality we are trapped within our own minds gone rogue. Has this ever happened to you?
Time to jump that ship and go home.
“The Four Qualities of Love Taught by the Buddha – Thich Nhat Hanh, will help guide your way on back to you.
Springtime is about renewal and rebirth and it reminds us to keep it simple, keep it light and keep it right!
Have a great weekend filled with gusto & grace,
